While it’s not an everyday occurrence, that a G3 geomagnetic storm happens. A storm of this magnitude can create aurora borealis that fills the skies as south as Utah, South Dakota, and Nebraska. The Northern Lights have been clearly visible in Montana. There are many who head to Alaska, Canada, and Iceland, to view the Northern Lights, it’s also possible to see the Northern Lights in out local turf here in the Big Sky Country.

Thousands of people, local and visiting to Montana, took photos of the Aurora Borealis which also known as the Northern Lights.
