Nevada City, Montana is one mile away from Virginia City, Montana. If you are staying more than 1 day you will want to grab a Vigilante Pass which is good for a family or group of 5. Riding the Alder Gulch Shoreline Railroad from Virginia City to Nevada City is a must. There you will be lead to the River of Gold where you can pan for gold. There is also a free outdoor museum exhibit of mining equipment which includes the Mount Vernon Dredge. When you are not mining for gold you will want to head on over to the Nevada Museum and Music Hall. It features on of the largest collections of Old West artifacts including several unique and one of a kind music machines.
